Filipe Portugal is a choreographer with classical roots who has developed his skills in a variety of styles. His creations are deeply inspired by composers he listens to, creating unique interpretations of the music through dance. In this evening, his ballets are presented with guest dancers of Ballet Zürich and Basle Ballet, along with our company’s youth dancers. Amongst the program is a new ballet choreography by Joanne Willmott for Yen Han, inspired by Alice Oswald’s poem “A Short Story of Falling”. This poem uses the wonderful metaphor of water to describe the journey of a woman’s life.
