Yen Han Ballet Productions comprehends a ballet production company, a ballet school and a ballet company, covering the creative, educational and production aspects of dance.
As part of the creation stimulus programme, the company invites young choreographers offering them all the resources to create new choreographies. For this season we invited Ricardo Campos Freire, a young artist active across Europe, to develop a new piece for Yen Han Ballet Company. Working in our studios along our youth professional program with guest soloists, he has the opportunity to explore his artistic expressions while giving our young dancers the chance to experience a professional environment.
“Us” is Freire´s new choreography with the music of Ólafur Arnalds & Davidson Jaconello, edited by Ricardo Campos Freire. Ricardo was born in Portugal, where he graduated at the Superior Dance School in Lisbon, and followed up his studies at Stockholm University of the Arts. He worked as a dancer across Europe for different companies such as the Portuguese Company of Contemporary Dance, Croatian National Theatre, Bitef Dance Company, Ballet Hagen, and Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, working with choreographers such as Mauro Bigonzetti, Cayetano Soto and Marco Goecke.

Enhancing our dance network, Yen Han Ballet Productions also has the pleasure to receive Jorge Garcia Perez’s students from the Balletschule Theater Basel performing Richard Wherlock’s “Snow White”.
Richard Wherlock is the chief choreographer for Ballet Theater Basel for the past 20 years. Originally from Bristol, Wherlock is an activist of the dance scene. Dancer, choreographer, and director of the festival 'basel tanzt’ (2004 - 2009), he also co-founded SiWiC, a Swiss international advanced training course in choreography (1997 to 2011), and has been a jury member at international dance competitions in Rome, Florence, Hanover, Paris and Valencia, and for the Migros Scholarships for Dance.
Jorge García Pérez is a soloist dancer at the Ballet Theater Basel, artistic director at Carta Blanca Dance, and teacher at Balletschule Theater Basel.
As temperatures fall and winter comes closer, we invite you to our warm & cozy studio for a program with novelties - and a unique opportunity to enjoy a performance of the Balletschule Basel at the Zurich Lake area, Küsnacht.
